known as the green city in the sun and the safari capital of the world, has an unofficial
population of approximately 4 million people. Started in may 1899 as an artificial settlement
created by the European builders of the east African railway, located at’ mile 327’ from the
coast. Easily the largest city in East Africa, Nairobi is also the youngest, most modern, the
heist and (at 1700 m) and the fastest growing. It is considered one of the most prominent
cities in Africa (fourth largest) housing many multinational companies and organizations, the
only city in Africa hosting 2 UN permanent offices i.e. UN Habitat and UNHCR. Today, Nairobi
is cosmopolitan city attracting different ethnicities and nationalities.
